Biography

Nancy Cappo

Born in Minnesota, raised in Florida. Even though the majority of my life has been spent in Florida, my yearly trip to Minnesota has greatly influenced my artistic flair, photography, and writing.

Graduating from the University of Miami with a degree in Elementary Education I began a career in teaching where I am currently a Florida certified elementary ed. Teacher. But teaching flows into many facets of my life. I realize the importance of the process more than the end result. This focused my style on creativity and expression along the journey. I am challenged by the unique opportunities to “capture the moment”, using both a camera and the written word. I encourage individuals to express feelings to understand their journey more completely and to become more aware of everyday occurrences.

While teaching a variety of subjects, no matter which area, I always enjoy watching the faces of children and adults as they begin to understand that which I am portraying. Growth, along with self-esteem and self-concept, evolve when one takes ownership of his/her own creativity.

Travel has continued to be an important facet of my life, beginning with a year abroad in high school. I have an affinity with all Spanish-speaking cultures sharing a common bond of language. I enjoy seizing pportunities as they arise and capturing moments as they unfold. My world is enhanced by knowing people from different countries. Believing in life’s meaning and purpose, I feel strongly that people are placed in our path for a reason. My life would not be complete without love, laughter, creativity, spirituality, and friendship.
